SAFETY - Each product undergoes a thorough safety assessment that involves evaluating the potential toxicological risks associated with the product's ingredients and ensuring their safety for consumer use.
ACCOUNTABILITY - For each product put on the market, there is a designated person responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulation, maintaining product information dossiers, and notifying authorities in case of adverse effects.
QUALITY - Specific quality requirements are followed in terms of production, storage, and transportation of each product at every stage of the manufacturing process.
INFORMATION - The labels and packaging of each product provide current, clear and accurate product information as well as usage and safety warnings to consumers. Ingredients, product functions, batch numbers, and details of the responsible person are clearly indicated.
SUBSTANCE RESTRICTIONS - Known carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxicants, and substances classified as endocrine disruptors are not used, even if they are used as cosmetic ingredients elsewhere. Controlled substances, like colorants or certain preservatives are only used if required and in amounts not exceeding the maximums indicated in the respective compliance documentation.
SURVEILLANCE - The European council is informed in advance of each product before being put on the market. Market surveillance activities are conducted to ensure compliance with the regulation and address any potential safety issues not immediately apparent.
QUALIFIED PERSONNEL - Only trained and qualified personnel is involved in the manufacturing process. Particular qualifications and training are required for specific activities or manufacturing stages.
ADEQUATE FACILITIES - Manufacturing takes place in dedicated facilities that meet safety, hygienic and quality standards and prevent cross-contamination. Cleanliness, organization, prevention and control of contamination, as well as equipment maintenance is documented and carried out according to specifications.
DOCUMENTATION
- All procedures and product specifications are written, all product batches and quality control inspections are recorded. Records are kept and controlled by proprietary quality control software that ensures product traceability and accountability. Every single raw material can be traced at any point through the manufacturing process from its origin to the consumer.
CONTROL OF RAW MATERIALS
- Selection, qualification, and evaluation of suppliers are performed following quality guidelines. Incoming raw materials are inspected for quality and accuracy and stored in adequate facilities that prevent cross-contamination.
ADEQUATE PACKAGING AND STORAGE
- Packaging materials are safe, suitable for the product, do not leach chemicals into the product they contain, and are properly labeled according to applicable regulations. Finished products that pass quality controls are kept under suitable controlled environmental conditions until shipping.
SEGREGATION OF NON-CONFORMING PRODUCTS
- Products and raw materials that do not conform to specification are segreggated for investigation and remedial measures or disposal.
